# Amazon SES

Amazon SES is a cloud-based email service from Amazon Web Services for sending marketing, notification, and transactional email, and it can also receive email. Senders use the console, the SMTP interface, or the API after verifying sender domains or addresses. New accounts start in a sandbox where recipient addresses must also be verified. SES offers an account-level suppression list and can send bounce and complaint events to Amazon SNS topics.
